Abstrak

This article aims to explain the role and duty of PAK teachers to prepare learners who are free, to become individuals who are pleasing before God. Although many studies explain the role and duty of PAK teachers to prepare independent learners, they have not explained the duty of PAK teachers to prepare independent learners correctly. They only prepare learners in general, such as getting academic achievements, having skills, intelligent students, etc. This study, analyzing the roles and duties of PAK teachers to prepare free learners based on John 8:31-32, uses a qualitative method. The results show that the roles and duties of PAK teachers are to guide, educate students to have a life that is pleasing before God. In addition, the task of PAK teachers is to escort students in eternity, the life that God promises, namely the new heavens and the new earth. To achieve this, PAK teachers must guide, educate and train students to always act in accordance with the thoughts and feelings of God. This means that whatever they do is always in accordance with God's will, keeping their eyes from bad things, not speaking carelessly, having a heart and mind that is always in accordance with God's thoughts and feelings, not loving the world, turning off the flesh. The point is that learners experience a change of life into a new human being (having a divine nature).
