PEMBANGUNAN KARAKTER PADA REMAJA KRISTEN

Abstrak

Perlu dibangun karakter anak remaja Kristen sesuai kebenaran Firman Allah. Sebab jika tidak ada pendidikan dan pengajaran kepada remaja Kristen, maka pengaruh pergaulan buruk, dan dampak negatif informasi melalui media sosial, bisa menghancur karakter anak remaja Kristen masa kini. Penelitian ini menitikberatkan pada peran pendidik anak remaja sekagus mengenal anak remaja secara internal maupun eksternal. Tujuan penelitian ini agar anak remaja dapat berpegang terus pada kebenaran Firman Allah dan tidak hanyut dalam pengaruh pergaulan yang buruk dan dampak negatif informasi media sosial yang marak dan masif menyerang karakter baik anak remaja Kristen. Landasan teori yang kuat adalah sebagaimana Daud Mazmur 119:9 berkata:  “Dengan apakah seorang muda mempertahankan kelakuannya bersih? Dengan menjaganya sesuai dengan firman-Mu”. Metode penelitian digunakan kualitatif deskriptif  melalui pengumpulan data dari dokumen-dokumen. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui ada potensi pengaruh internal dan eksternal yang bisa merusak sendi-sendi karakter baik anak remaja Kristen. Diperlukan penanganan serius orang tua, guru, pendidik Kristen dalam rangka penguatan keimanan anak remaja Kristen, untuk mengantisipasi pengaruh buruk yang ada dalam masyarakat serta dampak dari media sosial menggilas perilaku baik remaja Kristen. Kiranya penelitian ini ditindaklanjuti lebih baik ke depan.

ABSTRACT

It is necessary to build the character of Christian teenagers according to the truth of God's Word. Because if there is no education and teaching for Christian teenagers, then the influence of bad relationships and the negative impact of information via social media can destroy the character of today's Christian teenagers. This research focuses on the role of adolescent educators as well as getting to know adolescent children internally and externally. The aim of this research is so that teenagers can continue to adhere to the truth of God's Word and not be swept away by the influence of bad relationships and the negative impact of social media information which is rampant and massive in attacking the good character of Christian teenagers. The basis of a strong theory is as David Psalm 119:9 says: “By what means does a young man keep his ways pure? By guarding it according to Your word.” The research method used was descriptive qualitative through data collection from documents. The results of this research show that there is potential for internal and external influences that can damage the good character of Christian teenagers. Parents, teachers and Christian educators need serious treatment in order to strengthen the faith of Christian teenagers, to anticipate the bad influences that exist in society and the impact of social media destroying the good behavior of Christian teenagers. We hope that this research will be followed up better in the future.
